Car and Truck Collisions
Our office has represented hundreds of individuals who have been injured in motor vehicle collisions. We have represented individuals in collisions involving cars, trucks, semi-trucks, company vehicles, and many other vehicles. Motor vehicle collisions have many considerations.
First, we ask whether you had insurance at the time of the collision. We always recommend that you have insurance and that you have PIP (Personal Injury Protection) and UIM (Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist) coverages. PIP will provide you with medical payments and wage loss payments up to the maximum amount set forth in the policy, while UIM coverage will provide you with coverage to compensate you for your injuries if the careless driver had little or no insurance.
We also want to know how much insurance the at-fault driver had and whether it is enough to fully compensate you for your injuries. We will ask questions about how the collision occurred and if there was more than one person who caused the collision. We always investigate the facts of the case so that we know who was at fault for the collision. If you hire us in your case, we will immediately obtain any and all police reports and witness statements. Often, we will interview witnesses if there is any question about who was at fault and thoroughly investigate the facts early on.
We believe that our court system is overburdened and the litigation process is time consuming and costly. Most cases should be settled out of court. However, it is not always possible to obtain fair compensation without filing a lawsuit. Sometimes trial cannot be avoided, and we aggressively litigate those cases that require a judge or jury to render justice.
